Margaret Standing was born in Dubois, Pa. and raised in Western N.Y. She graduated with a BSW and worked in the Social Work field for many years in Bristol, Conn. She was taught the art of Cut and Pierced Lampshade Making by an elderly Lamp Store owner in Conn., in the early 90's. She has been crafting custom lampshades for customers and friends ever since. She truly enjoys creating her art form from a single piece of paper, each shade having it's own unique style. With the exact measurements of an existing shade she can replicate your old shade. Her shades come in various colors & trims, and there are over 75 designs to choose from.

Margaret has been a member of The Creative Hand since 2008.
